Since late 2024 we've run the AV for Band of Angels' monthly investment meetings, where startups pitch to the group. Some attendees join on Zoom, and some presenters give their whole pitch remotely, to the room and the online audience at the same time, then take questions from both.

Project need
Challenge
We were brought in because neither the people in the room nor the people on Zoom could hear well, and there was echo. With remote presenters and questions coming from both audiences, everyone needed to hear everyone else clearly.
Delivery
Technical approach
The room has speakers and two wireless mics. One laptop runs the slides and the Zoom call, and an audio interface connects it to the sound system, so people online hear the microphones directly and remote presenters come through the room speakers. A Vaddio camera sends the room to Zoom, and the projector and the presenter's confidence monitor are fed over SDI. A second laptop joins the call as a host: we answer logistics questions in the chat, tell the room when someone online has a question, and mute remote guests when needed. One technician runs the sound and both laptops.

Outcome
Results
Everyone, in the room and online, now hears clearly with no echo, and presenting is more comfortable whether the presenter is at the front of the room or on Zoom. Attendance has grown from about 25 to about 60 since we started.
