For a rave inside Eastridge Mall in San Jose, we were hired by the event's production company to provide the sound system, a systems engineer to run it, and power distribution for an audience of about 3,700.

Challenge
A mall interior is mostly hard surfaces. Any sound that misses the crowd bounces around the space and muddies everything else, so the system had to be steered carefully onto the audience.

Technical approach
We flew eight Meyer Sound Melodie cabinets per side on Genie Super Towers, which we subrented for the show, with ten 600-HP subwoofers in the center and a UPA-1P as center fill. One of our staff systems engineers, trained on Meyer Sound systems, set up and tuned the rig on site with Meyer's Galileo processor and handled changes during the event, including a record feed for the promoter. The DJs had their own stage monitors, and we supplied power distribution from a Motion Laboratories 200A distro.
